About this Open Call

ENTRY POINT is a curated Flash Open Call focused on early photographic work and emerging practices worldwide.

The project centers on an entry point stage in photographic practice — a moment when learning is still present in the work, questions remain open, and a visual language is beginning to take form.

ENTRY POINT offers a structured yet attentive curatorial space in which early work can be seen and presented with professional care.

Profile Portrait Outdoors

Who Should Submit

Photographers worldwide over 18 years old who:

  • Seek depth and intentionality in theme

  • Create work rooted in observation, emotion, or lived experience

  • Work across genres — from fine art and documentary to experimental forms

Scope

The open call considers work created at early stages of practice, where direction is emerging and the relationship between learning and authorship is still unfolding.

These works are approached not as incomplete outcomes, but as meaningful starting points within a longer creative process.

Key Dates

  • Deadline: March 31, 2026

  • Notification of Acceptance: April 15

  • Exhibition Launch: April 15 — June 15

Curatorial Framework

Submissions to the ENTRY POINT Open Call are reviewed through a curatorial process.

A curatorial selection of submitted works will be presented as part of an international online exhibition. Each exhibited work receives a short curatorial note.

The framework maintains consistent curatorial standards while allowing space for diverse voices and learning contexts.

What You’ll Receive

Professional Curatorial Engagement
Every selected image will receive thoughtful curatorial notes that speak to your vision and approach — a rare opportunity for meaningful feedback.

Global Visibility & Promotion
Selected work will be featured in our online exhibition, exhibition catalog (print + digital), and showcased via Decagon’s newsletters, press channels, and social platforms — reaching audiences across continents.
