THE SPACE BETWEEN US

There is always a space between us and something.

​

Between who we were yesterday and who we are today. Between us and our dreams. Between feeling something and finding a way to express it. Between what happened and what remains with us afterward.

​

Working on this exhibition—looking closely at the photographs and reading the stories behind them—I was given the rare opportunity to enter, for a moment, the lives of people I had never met. To accompany them through something they had lived and recognize within it something of my own, as though looking into a mirror. Because somewhere within each of us, such a space exists. It holds what could not be expressed, what has changed, and what continues to remain despite the distance. Perhaps this is one of the most beautiful, even if difficult, parts of life: the space between does not hold only absence, but everything that has mattered enough to stay with us.

I am deeply grateful to every photographer who trusted us with something so close to their life and made this exhibition a space we were not only able to observe, but also to enter and feel.
