In the rush of everyday life we often postpone, or keep hidden within ourselves, what truly matters — our feelings and the stories that shape us. We promise ourselves: on Monday I will stop, I will take time for myself.

But does that Monday ever come?”

With Decagon Gallery, you are invited to make it real.
Monday Open Call is a chance to pause — to dive into your inner world, to remember, to feel. To look again at the photographs that matter most to you, and to bring forward not only the image itself, but the story it holds.

Because the photograph can be more than an image.
It can carry our deepest emotions, preserve what is fragile inside us, and sometimes become a turning point — the moment that changes how we see our lives.

What is this Open Call about?

📸 Your Photograph
Choose one image that became a turning point in your life.

It can be:
– a concrete moment captured in the image,
– a photograph that, for personal reasons, changed the course of your life,
– a photo taken at a time that was deeply important to you.

✍️ Your Letter
Take a moment to sit down, reflect, and remember what this photograph means to you. Write a short note to yourself in that moment — warm, simple, human.

The letter may be:
– handwritten on paper (you can photograph it and send it as an image — this will make the exhibition feel more alive and personal),
– or typed, if you prefer.

You are free to shape and design it as you wish.
It can be just one sentence, a few words, or a longer thought. What matters is that it comes from you.

🖇 Together

Both the photo and the letter will be shown side by side — image and words together, like memory and meaning united.
Your submission must include these two parts together:
– one photograph,
– and one letter to yourself.

They are inseparable — the photograph and the words complete each other.

Example Submission

Here is an example from Teona Machavariani, who shares her most important photograph along with a letter to herself written at the moment she took it.

A Note to All Participants

“It doesn’t matter how far apart we are or where we find ourselves — this open call, this Monday can bring us together through shared memories and remind us that we are not alone, no matter how many countries or distances lie between us. Let’s share them with each other and with the world.

Monday Flash values both the artistic quality of your photograph and the truth of the story it carries. We are waiting for your story!”
