Decagon Gallery Announces Winners of “Botanicals – Flora of the World”
Juried by Lee Anne White

BROOKLYN, NY – September 15, 2025 – Decagon Gallery is pleased to announce the award winners of its international online photography exhibition, Botanicals – Flora of the World, juried by acclaimed photographer and educator Lee Anne White. This exhibition celebrates the visual poetry of plant life across the globe, with works ranging from intimate close-ups to expansive landscapes. The exhibition runs from September 15 through November 15, 2025, and can be viewed online at: www.decagongallery.com/botanicals-flora-of-the-world.

Award Winners

  • First Place: Inner Circle by Alys Walker Tinson (Béziers, France)
    A mesmerizing photograph that captures both elegance and mystery, “Inner Circle” reflects the timeless beauty of natural forms in a way that feels both contemporary and eternal.

  • Second Place: As Darkness Fell by Pamela Moore (Montclair, NJ)
    Moore’s evocative image conveys the shifting interplay between light and shadow, where botanical subjects take on a mood both haunting and lyrical.

  • Third Place: Untitled #54 by Joseph Gattulli (Plainview, NY)
    Gattulli’s work offers a bold exploration of composition and tonality, inviting viewers to see the flora of the world as both subject and abstraction.

Honorable Mentions

  • Meadow Daydream by Juleah Claar (Waedenswil, Switzerland)

  • Debut by KM Smith (Solana Beach, CA)

Both images were recognized for their imaginative interpretation of botanical life—one a dreamlike vision of meadow grasses, the other a fresh study of a flower’s emergence.

Director’s Choice

  • Canna Sunrise by Cindy Mathias (New York, NY)
    Selected by Decagon Gallery Director John Manno, “Canna Sunrise” captures the vibrant energy of a new day through luminous color and delicate detail.
